Beautiful Knit Designs by Tato!

My amazingly talented partner, Tato has been creating original knit designs for over 15 years now.  His designs are unique and are often inspired by pixel art from video games, and other nerdy things that he loves.  Last year, he took some time off from knitting. But this year he is coming back stronger than ever, with lots of new designs!

Tato combines patterns, and fun color combinations to create knit beanie hats, cuffed hats, pointed hats, cowl scarves, and arm warmers that can't be found anywhere else.  Using high quality, soft, sock weight acrylic yarn, Tato's knits are machine washable and are very warm and comfortable to wear.

Tato has always been inspired by the fandom that he loves.  We both love fantasy, and science fiction. Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings, and other fantasy stories influence our art so much. In the past, he created Legend of Zelda patterns, and D& D dice pattern designs.  

This year, many of Tato's new designs are inspired by nature.  He draws inspiration from the forest, and the animals and plants within.  Our shop at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival has a massive, bur oak tree growing up through it's center!  The oak leaves and acorn that fall are always decorating the shop so now they also decorate some of our knits!

Renaissance era textiles often have repeating floral or scrolling patterns. The tapestries from this time period often show woodland creatures and feature different plants and flowers.  Many of Tato's knits have patterns influenced by this time period, with his own, creative take on these styles and motifs.  

I love autumn and woodland floral and fauna designs. So Tato has been making new patterns with pumpkins and mushrooms motifs, with my interests in mind.  

We will be selling Tato's handmade knits this year at our shop, number 612, at the MN Renaissance Festival.  We will be there every weekend from mid August through the end of September.  Stop by to say hi and try on our beautiful knits!  See you there!
